Golfers raise money for Hearts Together The long-running event, founded in memory of former Hearts Together trustee Clem Spencer, brings together supporters, golfers and local businesses each year to enjoy a day of friendly competition and fundraising. It is organised entirely by volunteers, led by former trustee Rob Harder, who continues to champion Clem’s legacy and the spirit of community that inspired the event’s creation. Despite the wet weather, the course was in great condition and players produced some impressive scores. Elfordleigh Golf Club Secretary, Shaun Johnson, took the top spot with 38 points, narrowly beating Best Guest winner Sam Lenthal. Shaun was presented with the Clem Spencer Trophy and the coveted Red Jacket by event organiser Rob Harder. Hearts Together CEO Angela Gatcum said: “We are so grateful to Rob for his continued dedication in organising this wonderful event in Clem’s memory. The day embodies the generosity and kindness Clem brought to Hearts Together, and it’s fantastic to see that spirit living on year after year. Our thanks also go to everyone who took part, sponsored a hole, or supported in any way.” The charity also extended thanks to Elfordleigh Golf Club and Hotel for once again hosting the day, and to St Austell Brewery for their ongoing support in providing refreshments for participants. The 2026 Clem Spencer Trophy will take place on Saturday 15th August and will mark a special milestone – the 25th anniversary of the Hearts Together charity. Manage Cookie Preferences
