A Heartfelt Thank You to The Lions Club of Liskeard!

We are incredibly grateful to The Lions Club of Liskeard for their generous donation of £250 to Hearts Together.

Supporter Diana with The Liskeard Lions Club One of our amazing community champions, Diana Manning, who has previously benefitted from our services, was delighted to attend a group meeting to accept the cheque. Diana shared her heartfelt story about the vital support we provide and how donations like this one make a real difference to people and families like hers every single day.

The generosity of our community such as this ensures we can continue to provide our support to everyone who needs us. Whether through donations, fundraising events, legacy gifts, or in-memory contributions, every act of kindness helps us continue delivering essential support to those who need it most.

Our guests tell us in thank-you notes, in conversations over breakfast, in messages years later, about the difference we make. 25 Years of Hearts Together!

We celebrated Hearts Together’s 25th anniversary this month with a party at our Hospital Hotel, highlighted by fundraiser Ricky Callow completing a 37-mile challenge. The day honoured our founder, Monica Pearce, celebrated the support we provide to families facing medical treatment, and marked the launch of our new Sponsor a Counsellor campaign to expand emotional support services for guests.

Hospital hotel accommodation for healthcare professionals and trainees in close proximity to University Hospitals Plymouth NHS Trust (Derriford Hospital), The Nuffield Hospital and the Hyperbaric Treatment Centre (DDRC)
Our plans to expand

Our big build project sees Hearts Together set to expand from 26 bedrooms to 73 over two build phases, an ambitious but very necessary challenge that we intend to meet head on, as we look to accommodate the ever-growing needs of patients, carers, relatives, our local community, healthcare professionals and trainees.

This service has already shown to be absolutely invaluable, helping to reduce the stress and cost of transport, meaning that our guests can stay focused on supporting their loved ones or getting better themselves.

Pay it forward

If you have been helped by our charity and would like to help others like you, why not make a donation or fundraise for our pay it forward campaign. We use the money raised through this appeal to provide financial support to individuals who would otherwise be unable to afford to stay at our Hospital Guest Accommodation. Your support makes a huge difference to people's lives.
