William Darlington has taking it upon himself to run in the London Marathon 2025 to raise funds for Hearts together in loving memory of his Father, Richard James Darlington.

After previously staying at the Hearts Together Hospital Hotel in 2023 whilst his Father was in ICU, his visit made such an impression on him, that when picking a charity to raise money for, Hearts Together was his first choice.

What William had to say about his stay:

"When our dad James, was sick in Derriford Hospital; Hearts Together provided us with a caring and supportive place to stay.

The team were incredibly kind and we really owe a lot to the Hearts Together charity for their wonderful support during the time dad was in the ICU."

Why did you chose Hearts Together?

"I want to raise these funds so the charity can continue to support other families and friends who find themselves stuck when a loved one is taken ill. Finding last minute accommodation can be really expensive and Hearts Together enable people to remain close to their loved ones throughout their hospital treatment, without having to worry where to find a bed for the night."
